July 1, 2007 16:13 - Another Day of Climbing at Boulder Canyon

Went down to Boulder Canyon again the other day and fell even more in love with it.

This time we went up to the Avalon area. I was really excited because of the quality routes and not too mention the Tyrolean.

Here is a picture of me crossing the Boulder Canyon River on the tyrolean

July 5, 2007 18:04 - Harrington Places 3rd in World Cup

Colorado’s rock climbing superstar Emily Harrington has proved once again that she is one of the world’s best competition sport climbers. Harrington finished in third at the World Cup in Zürich, Switzerland. In the final she had actually tied for second with Slovenia’s Mina Markovic, but was awarded third place based on her semifinal result.

This has been Harrington’s best World Cup finish, but she has repeatedly shown she can peak for big events..

July 11, 2007 12:40 - Tallahassee 12th Anniversary Bouldering Competition

This coming Saturday the Tallahassee Rock Gym is celebrating their 12th anniversary by having a huge bouldering competition.

I am pretty excited about this competition because it will be the first time that I am actually competiting in a long time.

You see I have found that I don't compete that well. To be honest for some reason I can't handle the pressure or something. I become as some would say my worst enemy.

However, I am really excited because it is going to be really laid back and more of a competitive bouldering session with friends.

Also, the finals problems is going to be one huge game of take away. How fun is that that is going to be pretty rad.

I will keep you posted on my results and all.

Want some competition strategy check out my bouldering competition guide.

July 14, 2007 11:38 - Updates on Chris Sharma's New Project

I was reading BigUp's blog the other day and they had an update on Sharma's new project in Ceuse, France. First of all it is only about 100 feet to the right of Realization and it sounds sick.

"Chris stuck the dyno on his project for the first time, so now it officially goes, its just a matter of when. The project is an awesome line that has four or five hard boulder problems on it, including three dynos."

Three dynos now that sounds like Chris Sharma to me. I don't know about you but I am pretty pumped to see this footage it is going to be sick.

I'll keep you posted on any other information I find out.

Ryan

In the meantime you can check out some of these Sharma Videos.

July 28, 2007 10:57 - Building Brainpower for Bouldering

Q: I entered my first bouldering competition this summer at a local gym. I was so nervous that I choked on the opening moves of all but the easiest of problems. How do I relax? A: I know exactly where you're coming from. I can boast that I am the only competitor nervous enough to have accidentally eliminated a starting hold in a professional bouldering comp -- and failed on the very first move. On the other hand, that experience taught me a lot. Learning to win has.. (Read more)
