Another Day of Climbing at Boulder Canyon

Went down to Boulder Canyon again the other day and fell even more in love with it.

This time we went up to the Avalon area. I was really excited because of the quality routes and not too mention the Tyrolean.

Here is a picture of me crossing the Boulder Canyon River on the tyrolean

The climbing down in Boulder Canyon is fantastic, the rock quality is just impeccable. In fact I think that it might just be one of my favorite sport climbing areas in the country.

We warmed up on a nice 5.10c, and then I spent about 20 minutes on another 5.10. It was pretty crazy I kept climbing up trying to work the final crux sequence and having to down climb into a split rest position. Eventually I ended up sending the route, but was taught a lesson in patience.

Finally, we climbed this powerful 5.12b called Ripcord.

Hope you enjoy the pictures,

Ryan
