Chuck Clance Out for Spring 2010

by Chris Cunningham
(San Francisco Ca)

May 4, 2010. Climbing legend Chuck Clance (age 58)of California and Nevada was air-lifted from Pinnacles National Monument(East Side/Discovery Wall)after taking a short fall between climbs while moving along the base/climbers access trail of Discovery Wall.

Doctors at Valley Medical Center (Santa Clara County CA), after reviewing the various scans and X-rays, saw no CNS, spinal, brain or "critical linkage" injuries...just some "cracked ribs, fractured pelvis and shoulder with a little internal blood pooling around these fractures.

Chuck stated he expects to be back at Yosemite/Tuolumne by July 2010. Good Luck Chuck!
