Daniel Woods On Jaws II as He Climbs His First 5.15a
As we all know Daniel Woods has been tearing up the bouldering scene for quite awhile. Whether it be climbing some of the hardest boulder problems around the world or crushing bouldering competitions.
Daniel has done both and has been doing them very well. Recently when he was out on the East Coast for the Nor’Easter bouldering competition, which he placed 3rd in, he decided to do a little rope climbing.
He was going after the second ascent of Jaws II, which has had a $1000 bounty on it for some time.
He was able to grab the second ascent after his 3rd day on it and described the route according to his 8a.nu profile as: “a 2 move 8A+ for the first crux followed by a mini 12d into a 7C+ lurp dyno move. both cruxes involve around one low percentage move each. the outro section is around 8a.”
We are super psyched that he was able to send Jaws II and hopefully this will inspire him to climb more sport routes.
