What is the best way to increase individual finger and thumb grip strength when not climbing?
Answer:
Jack that is a good question. If you are looking to increase your finger and grip strength the best thing is climbing.
However, since you asked how to do it when your not climbing let me give you a few suggestions.
I like to use one of the metolious grip masters. It is basically a squeeze ball with some rubber attachments that go on each finger.
You can also do hangboard exercises.
These are some great ideas but I have not seen anything that will help as much as climbing.
