Protecting Your Wrists

by Jessie
(Texas)

Should I wrap my hands a wrists to protect them? I am new to climbing but I would think gloves would be a little too thick to grip good.

Answer:

It is going to depend on each person. If you have had problems in the past with your wrists you should definitely tape them up. However, most rock climbers don't tape their wrists unless they are crack climbing, but some don't even do it then.

So really it comes down to your preference, but realize that you don't need to tape your wrists.
