With winter in full swing I thought it would be interesting to talk about some of the top winter fashion trends. I don't know about you but one of my favorite things about winter is wearing my Smartwool socks. Hot colors for our cold temperatures in Winter 2010 include wonderful shades of warm colors like browns, creams, and tans; oranges; and reds. Black, shades of grey, and many shades of blue are also still in vogue. But the top 5 winter fashion trends of 2010 are all about the details and the accessories. Here's a quick cheat sheet on what's hot right now for the new year: 1. Scarves are a hot accessory-in bold colors, stripes, textures, knits, and different fabrics-and they're not just for wearing with winter coats either. Scarves of all kinds are topping off knit tops, sweaters, and button front shirts to add visual interest and texture. 2. Chunky jewelry is another great fashion accessory for 2010. Large chunky necklaces, bracelets, and earrings are all popular right now. Art deco styles fit right in with this big bold look. 3. Belting it. Belts are in and stylish ladies are belting everything from dresses to tunic tops in addition to jeans. Big chunky bold belt buckles are popular, and wide belts are the way to go. 4. Boots are a big hit, too. Women are wearing boots with everything-with their jeans, with skirts, and even with dresses. From ankle length boots under jeans to the almost knee-high versions with short skirts and dresses, boots in warm browns and blacks are definitely in. Wear them with leggings or without. Plaid is definitely the pattern for this year. Plaid shirts in short and long sleeves, tunics to belt, and even casual handbags are all the rage. So if you're looking to buy just a few new pieces of clothing to bring your wardrobe up to date, opt for a couple of plaid shirts and you'll be on the cutting edge. I know this might seem a little odd for our climbing site, but I want you guys looking good in between your climbing sessions.
