What shoes should I get?

by Dylan
(Rochester, NY)

I started climbing a little over a month ago and I have been looking to get some shoes. Right now it's mostly just inside, but ones it gets nicer out I will be outside on anything I can find and this summer I will be living in Moab and plan to climb a lot.

I'm not a bad climber (as far as i know) but by no means a star, my biggest problem is edging (the shoes I rent have enormous holes instead of toe rubber). I would also prefer velcro for the ease, but tell me what you think. What shoes would you recommend?

Dylan,

That is a great question. Here is an article that I wrote that you can check out that talks about just this subject.
